Locarno Night on the road.

Postby Jim » Sun Aug 15, 2010 6:54 pm

Nope, it's not Bernie going on a national tour, it's me other scoot, of the same name, now finally on the road! Took it for it's MOT on Friday, and passed OK with no probs.

This was the first time I had ridden it, other than up and down my drive in first gear, and I'd forgotten how scary it is to ride a 'new' scoot. But I was well pleased with the way it rode, looks like I had got the carb 'n' clutch settings pretty much as they should be! Very nice exhaust note from the megaphone, and for a bog standard, un molested 125, it popped along at quite a 'jaunty' speed, don't you know, old chap!

Had a million things to do today (Sunday), but just couldn't resist taking it for a little 'Billy no mates' test ride round town (well, it had to be done- the sun was shining!) and it sure did get a lot of attention! (And I hate that sort of thing!!)

Of course, the first ride has to have the usual little hiccups- throttle cable popped off the carb (twice-Doh!) but now adjusted and seems good, one side panel worked a little loose (had my eye on it ) and being the sort of scooter it is, a spotlight worked itself well loose and was wobbling like a good'un! (Yep- they do all work!)

Had to take a piccy, with my old camera- not brilliant but never mind!

All being well, I'll be taking it to the Bike Show, after I've checked it over for loose nuts (sounds painful!) so you can have a good gander at it!

Jim.

No it wont,
Its completely fenced of this year for the big stage thing again.
Scoots will have to look cool in the taxi rank.

Green is of bounds again :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:
