Lambretta inspections

Postby Chris TV175 » Mon Jun 14, 2010 6:48 pm

I was passing Steve H's place today and took time out to have a good look at his new SX200- and what a beauty it is. I think the only thing that is out of place is the speedo which Steve is already aware of, and I understand he has plans to source a "correct" one.

Anyway, this got me thinking. There is a lot of expertise within the club, with many people "knowing their stuff", and I am wondering if any of the newcomers to the scene would like some help when thinking of buying?

Let me say at the outset that there is certainly no "shame" in not knowing- we all had to start somehere- so if anyone would like a second opinion on a Lambretta before shelling out your hard earned cash, then why not put a request on here.

As I said, there is a lot of "expertise" now, and if anyone needs some help, then don't be afraid to ask- better to find out BEFORE you hand over the readies!!

BTW- I know sweet FA about Vespas so don't bother with those. :-D

Thanks for the kind words Chris. You are right, there is a great deal of expertise within the club.

When I first viewed the SX it was love at first sight, but putting my sensible head on I `phoned Gerry, who gave me excellent info` on what to look for etc, before I parted with any cash. Thanks again Ger`.

And of course we have our ultimate expert, Clive (Dyson) who reckons nobody should buy a scoot without him being present, and that I`ve been lucky not to buy a `wrong un` without his help!

Wish I could get my hands on a absolutely beautiful example of an SX 200 like Steve's - I'd probably ignore the speedo thing ......

You're right Chris. My mate Clive has a heart of gold, and he would help out anyone, especially if it was Lambretta related! He's OK!
